Dull Beyond Words, Until One Day... _inser10

Ever since he was a little boy, Icarus was a bit different. He grew up on a farm with two humans whom he truely believed to be his parents. He went to school like any child and, of course, his ears and tail gained him trouble and attention in the worse way. This community saw Icarus as a monster. This comunity thought Icarus was something they could hunt and hang. It became so bad that even the teachers completely abused the boy and beat him. When a man shot at him in his own school his parents decided it would be best if he just staid on the farm. It killed Icarus inside. He wanted to learn so badly, yet there was nothing he could do. He wasn't very strong when this decision was made and today he still saw himself as weak.

Feeling horrible for having the town force him into hiding like some animal, Icarus began to work on the farm and built up his strength without realizing it. He tried to teach himself how to read and write however his parents had no former education. He had no hints, no clues on how to learn at all. He couldn't read a single book though he so terribly wanted to. When he earned a little money Icarus would sneek into down with a cloak over his head and around his body. He would purchas a book at the library, never looking at anyone and never speaking to anyone. When he came home with his new book he would go up into the loft and try to read while looking at the pictures of different animals. One animal that stood out was this rather large cat with a fluffy main that lived somewhere really far away. This cat had similar ears and the same tail as Icarus did. "Whoa... I recon that thing might be mah second cousin or summtin... huh... I wonder how that worked out. Aint no way ma'd let somethin that furry in her bed no sir. Ma says she has one wooly beast and that be mah Pa. She dun need no others gettin into her sheets." He explained to the pig.

Icarus was so incredibly lonely that he had to resort to talking to the animals he took care of just so he felt less alone. The pig looked up at him and gave a snort before getting up. "I bet this here cat'll be choppin ya up in one bite," Icarus turned the page so the pig could see a picture of the cats teeth. "See, whaddaya make of that?" he grinned. The pig sniffed at the page before walking off, uninterested. "...yeah recon you're right. It be not that excitin..." He sighed sadly while putting the book away under the hay loft with the rest of his stach.

Icarus walked outside and watched the sun set, wondering why his life was so lonesome now. The boy sat upon the fence wearing only his jeans rolled up passed his mud caked knees. His tail swayed as he began to count them all in his mind. To his dimay one was missing. Now normally Icarus would go tell his mother, who unlike him looked completely normal, and she'd tell his father, who also looked normal, and he'd go look for it. Of course his mother was in this big fancy city place taking care of her sick sister and his father wasn't really around. Icarus looked around, then lept off the wooden fence and whistled.

A border collie came running up along side him, bouncing on her hind legs and licking at his legs. Icarus grinned and began scratching at her. "Lets go find us a sheep." Icarus grinned to the dog. The two walked outside the border of the farm and fallowed a stream that ran behind the farm, looking for the sheep together. They walked for what felt like a couple of miles though still no sheep. "Bygum... where doya suppose that lil lamb wandered off to Sheila?" He asked with a frowned.

(Parenthesis!: I've been dying to use Icarus but I can never seem to get an rp going with him. So, I'm posting it here expecting nothing XD Open, Mature. Also incase you didn't notice, Icarus is a lion boy but he doesn't know it. His only interation has been with his adoptive parents who are both human, and sometimes when he sneeks out a librarian but he only takes picture books since he can't read. Thats about all you need to know C8)

Dull Beyond Words, Until One Day... Alvaro10
Kaelin "Kiss" Jensen

Kiss exhaled lightly, happy to be away from the hectic life of boarding school. He had moved away from the city, disliking the rush of everything and into the country life where everything was more simple and calming. He loved being able to look up at the sky and see the stars, loved being able to inhale and not choke on car fumes. Everything was new and he could start fresh where no one knew him or what he was.

He was different from the humans who surrounded him. One couldn’t tell from his hair color or his eyes, for they always thought those to be fake. One couldn’t tell at all from looking at him. It wasn’t until he was extremely anger or emotional, that his control slipped and his ears came out. Soft cat like ears, but that wasn’t the only thing that made him different. He could crystallize liquids if he wanted, blood included.

Once his parent’s had found out he could do such things they had thrown him in boarding school, but not before they had done their own damage to him. Since he had been old enough, his parents had used him to ‘entertain’ their guests. Their own little sex slave, except they never used him. They only let other people use him, never allowing anyone to physically scar him. That would take away from his value.

Kiss unconsciously rubbed his wrist at the foreboding memories. After being sexually abused for a while, Kiss had taken to cutting. The wounds becoming deeper and deeper with each act he had to participate in. Kiss sighed, pushing the memories away. He didn’t want to be reminded of such sad times. He was a naturally happy person, though he had perfected pretending to be happy to an art.

He turned back towards the little cottage his grandmother had given to him in her will. He had a small inheritance from her as well, which was how he was able to live without his parents providing everything for him. He would be quite content if he never heard from anyone of his past. The thought in mind, he walked into the cottage. The place was rather on the small size, being able to fit one person rather comfortably. Even though it was the perfect size for Kiss, the place felt spacious with his lack of items. He would have to buy some more knickknacks, he thought as he began unpacking the rest of his dishes.

Hours passed while Kiss remained buried in unpacking. It wasn’t until his little grandfather clock chimed 7 did he realize he was hungry. Yawning, Kiss stretched while wiping his brow. Unpacking was harder than he thought. He moved into the kitchen, having made his way to the back bedroom, and looked into the refrigerator. Empty, well minus the little things. He would go for a picnic. Enthused to have a treat to himself, he began to prepare in earnest. It took him twenty minutes to prepare what he wanted. He looked at his handiwork and smiled in satisfaction. A few sandwhichs, a few cut up fruit, bread and cheese, homemade lemonade, and a book. It was perfect.

Placing the items in a basket and putting on necessary outdoor gear, he began his hike into the woods, setting off in no particular direction trusting his instincts to bring him back home.

He made it to a small clearing in the woods and decided to eat there. The sky was already darkening with the tell tale signs of night. He sighed, knowing he would have to rush a bit to eat, at least if he wanted to see his food. He took a bite of his sandwich, sighing in happiness at the simple PB&J bliss for him. He took a few more bites before a rustling towards his left had him frozen, until a baby bunny hopped into view. Visibly relaxing, he offered a bit of bread towards the bunny, smiling when the little creature hopped up to him.

“You’re a cute little thing.” He whispered as he picked the baby up, stroking it’s fur. A soft smile playing across his features as he played with the baby bunny.” You need a name. How about Hoppy?” He chuckled as the bunny’s nose twitched. “Hoppy it is.”
